Scott Anderson is an expressionist painter known for a gripping, bravado style that carries a magnetic, almost Baroque strength. His work is characterized by "cyclonic" brushwork and palette knife techniques where images practically leap from the canvas to overtake the viewer with power and assertion.
Beyond the surface, Anderson is a dedicated "chemist" of his medium. He fashions his own paints from hand-cured oils and mineral pigments, a process that mirrors the techniques of the Old Masters. By avoiding inferior commercial oils, he ensures a depth of color and archival permanence that allows his vibrant, impasto works to retain their brilliance for generations.
Following a successful 15-year career represented by galleries in San Francisco and across the West, Scott now operates a direct-to-collector studio in North Texas.
